On the edge of a breakdown, Wilbert decides to confront the, not so well kept secret of his shadow self: Destructive Desmond. A darkly absurd tale encapsulating the emergence of the authentic self, questioning what is real and what is simply a performance. Come and take a peep into the darkest corners of Wilbert's mind. This one-person show explores themes of gender conformity, shame and inherited trauma and is inspired by the character of Destructive Desmond in W.H.Auden’s ‘The Dog Beneath the Skin'.
